Regeneration and planting native species to improve habitat for local wildlife
Help local BushCare groups to regenerate and plant native species with the aim to green our backyard for the 2032 Games - Image: www.eventbrite.com
In seven years time, the world can look on in admiration and perhaps a touch of envy, when the spotlight focuses on the Sunshine Coast region as part of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Sunshine Coast Council is celebrating this important milestone with
7 Years to Grow events - an exciting initiative to green our backyard and work towards a more sustainable region in 2032 and beyond.
Being outdoors always enhances a sense of wellbeing and happiness - Image: www.eventbrite.com
If you are keen to get involved, there are
twenty FREE tree events across the region , hosted by local Councillors, where every family will be entitled to receive one Game tree to plant in private gardens and backyards, with the aim of planting 2,032 trees in total. In addition to the FREE tree events, the community is invited to join in for a morning of bush regeneration at various
BushCare Working Bees, throughout the Sunshine Coast Region. Activities will include hand weeding environmental weeds and planting native species to improve habitat for local wildlife.
