To kick off the school holidays, you are invited to join award-winning young environmentalist, Jarrah Small and fauna ecologist, Clancy Hall, on the very special
Walking with Koalas walk through the bushland.
Did you know that the
‘bushland’ part of the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden is actually home to koalas - identified as a priority population within the Sunshine Coast? Recent survey work included a health check for Bunya, the handsome four-year-old male pictured in the main image above.

Take a walk with koala champions, Jarrah and Clancy, and learn all about what makes koalas special and what they need for a healthy habitat. Participants will discover how to identify the koalas' feed trees, including looking for scratches and perhaps even their scats (poop)!
The
Walking with Koalas activity is suitable for children aged seven and older. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver who will be required to stay, but does not need a ticket.
Spaces are limited, so get in quick!
