Come along for a morning of planting and caring for our local bushland



This year’s goal is to plant seven hundred native species to enhance the natural habitat around the newly built car park and recently installed nest boxes at Kirbys Road Environment Reserve. The Council is also delighted to include an introduction to nest boxes and a hands-on monitoring session of nest boxes.

Come along and care for our local bushland, through connecting with the community and planting in Kirbys Road Environment Reserve.

The Reserve carpark has limited parking spots and it is recommended that participants carpool from the Mapleton Lilypond parking lot see map here . If you do not have a carpooling option, please contact [email protected]
Please respect local residents and drive slowly on the gravel road.



Participants must sign-in at the registration desk on arrival at the reserve.

What's provided : Gloves, tools and equipment for the planting activity will be provided. A light lunch will be provided. A portable toilet will be on site.
Please bring : your own water bottle and enough water for your stay, a broad brimmed hat, and wear field clothing including pants, a long-sleeved shirt and covered shoes.

Morning Agenda :
8.00am to 8.30am - Introduction and morning tea
8.30am to 11.45am - Planting
10.30am to 11.45am - Talk and workshop on nest boxes
11.45am to 1.00pm - Light lunch
