September School holidays are almost here and I just know that all the mums and dads out there are sure to be looking for fun low-cost adventures to keep their children entertained and busy. Why not come along and join in the fun with Museum Mystery Madness at a variety of Sunshine Coast Museums! Take a leap into local history, uncover hidden secrets and enjoy hands-on games and activities designed for curious minds of all ages.
Check out your local museum from the list of participating museums below to find out what fun activities are planned for the holidays as well as all-important opening hours.

Travel back in time and put your detective skills to the test! During September, children can explore Buderim’s historic Pioneer Cottage and take part in the Mystery Quiz - finding and naming the mystery objects hidden throughout the house. All entries go in the draw to win a $25 voucher, plus a lucky dip prize for every participant. A fun and educational adventure for the school holidays!

Can you crack the clues? Children will be able to test their knowledge with a special kids’ quiz at the Caloundra RSL Military Display! Journey through Australia’s wartime history, from WWI to modern conflicts, as fascinating stories are uncovered whilst solving clues hidden amid the memorabilia. Make sure to bring your thinking caps, you may surely need them!

Bring the kids along to Fairview in North Maleny these school holidays for a fun and educational history adventure! Young visitors can explore this beautifully preserved early 1900s farmhouse and complete a special kids’ questionnaire to uncover stories of local dairy farming life, the Pattemore family and the heritage gardens. A great way to connect with the past while enjoying the peaceful surrounds of this state heritage-listed property.

Nestled behind the historic Peachester Hall, the Peachester Heritage Centre invites children and their families to explore local history these school holidays! Discover the region’s rich timber heritage, learn about legendary weather forecaster Inigo Jones and take part in a fun questionnaire designed just for kids. See the incredible timber whittling display and see how the past comes to life through the fascinating collection of local craftsman, the late Jim Hall.
